Privacy, in plain English
Your house shows what you own as cozy things. It never shows what anything is worth.
What we read
When you connect a brokerage, it goes through SnapTrade, read-only. Your brokerage login is entered with SnapTrade, never with us, and nobody can trade or move money through Dwellth. We read which stocks, funds and coins you hold and how much, use the amounts for a moment to work out each one's share and how big its thing should be, then throw them away.
What we keep
- Your house: its address (/@handle), its name, your resident and house style.
- For each holding: its ticker, the thing it became, its size (small, medium or big), its floor, and its share of your portfolio (cash aside), rounded to 0.1%.
- How much of your portfolio is cash, as a share rounded the same way.
- Which brokerages you connected. Their names show on your house only if you turn that on.
- Each day's weather for your house: sunny, cloudy or rainy. Just the word.
- Whether your house is public, and whose invite link you came from, if any.
- If your house is public, the picture its link shows when shared.
- The keys SnapTrade gives us to read your holdings, encrypted.
What we never keep or show
Dollar amounts, quantities or account numbers, for anyone, you included. The rounded shares aren't listed anywhere either: they only go into things worked out from them, like how alike two houses are or your home inspection's findings. The one amount we do keep is for ourselves: once a day we add up every connected portfolio into a single total for all users together. It's never per person and never shown in the app.
Who can see your house
You choose when you name it. Public puts it on the street, where anyone can visit; private keeps it to you. Change it anytime in settings. You can also hide any holding, or turn on streamer mode to hide every ticker.
Analytics
We use PostHog for anonymous analytics and session recordings, with inputs masked.
It knows you by an internal number, never your email, and sees only a handful of steps (like “connected a brokerage” or “shared a house”), never an amount. No ads, and we never sell data.
Other things we keep
- A cookie that keeps you signed in, and PostHog's own cookie.
- Each ticker's daily price, with nobody's name on it, to work out the weather.
- Error reports for 30 days, without your name or address.
- A scrambled form of your IP address for a few minutes, to stop people hammering sign-in.
Leaving
Disconnect a brokerage anytime in settings. “Delete my house” deletes everything we keep about you and cancels our read access at SnapTrade.
